Customer Testimonial - J.W & W.M Baugh

We had a catch up with customers J.W & W.M Baugh who welcomed two new Case IH tractors to their farm. Heres what they had to say...

Nottinghamshire farmers J.W & W.M Baugh welcomed two new Case IH tractors to their family farm last April and we were keen to have a catch up with them to see
how they were getting on. Sharmans Area Sales Manager Andrew Channing sold the Baugh family a Case IH Luxxum 120 and a Maxxum 145 early last year at the beginning of our journey with Case IH.

Situated in the heart of Sherwood Forest, Woodside Farm are a 260 acre mixed farm conprising arable land with a mixture of rotational grazing and permanent pasture.  They have 130 outdoor sows and finish all the progeny on deep straw beds at the farmstead selling to the local slaughterhouse meaning their pork hits the local butchers.

They also have 700 ewes; the lambs are all finished and again sold to local butchers or Tesco’s on a cost of production contract. The farm has also diversified into selling their own pork and lamb boxes as well as a hog roast company called Bofs Hogs. We spoke to Richard who is a third generation in the family farm on their experience with the new tractors.

Why did you decide to purchase two Case IH products?

‘Last Spring, we started looking to replace our Deutz-Fahr tractor, after looking at most brands and getting quotes in we had been surprised at the affordability of the Case IH product. Following on from this we asked Andrew to quote for two tractors as the farms second tractor, a New Holland TS115, had done more than a shift and needed moving on. Andrew managed to put a great quote together and with both tractors being higher spec than the competition for the same price, if not better value, the deal was sealed with a virtual handshake. Woodside Farm was then the proud owner off a Case IH Maxxum 145 with front end loader and a Luxxum 120.’

How was your experience with Sharmans as your local Case IH dealer?

‘We hadn’t dealt with Sharmans before and we have found the whole team very helpful.
Andrew Channing was a pleasure to deal with and has followed up the sale with several check-ins to see how we are getting on with both tractors, whilst the servicing team have helped us with all our queries and have done a great job in looking after the tractors.
We are very happy with both machines. In the 10 months we have had them they
haven’t put a foot wrong whilst doing a range of jobs throughout the year. The team on the farm enjoy driving them and we have had no break downs. The Maxxum has done just over 600 hours, whilst the Luxxum is closer to 800 hours.’

Finally... Sum your Case IH products up in 3 words:

‘Reliable, Affordable, Comfortable!’

Thank you to Richard from J.W and W.M Baugh for this fantastic testimonial.
